Formerly a railway cottage for the operator of the adjacent railway crossing, this wonderful little gem of local history dates back to the 1800s and now presents itself as a detached family home. Whilst retaining all the charm and character associated with a property of this nature, it sits alongside a single track line which still operates (circa) twice daily for a slow train that runs to the nearby Tytherington quarry. Located in the parish of Iron Acton it has easy access to major road links so ideal for commuting plus it benefits from the rural lifestyle as surrounded by countryside. It is just a short drive to the village of Iron Acton where you will find a lovely community feel with the village hall, primary school, two public houses and the picturesque village green with its May Pole. Accessed via double metal gates the house sits at the front of the plot with a large rear garden which backs onto open fields. The layout on the ground floor comprises 3 reception rooms, kitchen, downstairs shower room and good size porch. The first floor offers 3 double bedrooms and a family bathroom, the master bedroom opening out to a generous raised terrace overlooking the fields with a lovely outlook plus views along the railway line and its green surroundings. Behind the house there is a converted detached double garage which now provides a 1 bedroom annexe with shower room, kitchen and lounge with woodburner. A generous driveway provides ample parking, then an outbuilding which was used as kennels is ripe for converting into a handy workshop.
